MILTON, FL - Santa Rosa County Republican voters are beginning to notice which political party delivers on behalf of Floridians. Last week county officials received word that The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, passed by President Joe Biden and members of the Florida Democratic Party, would be funding $13.2 MILLION in community modernization projects across the county. The infrastructure project dollars will be dispersed across the entire county from Jay to Gulf Breeze, Navarre to Milton, and even Pace.
As part of the Democrats' funding bill, citizens of Milton will see a $500,000 expansion of the Milton Community Center on Byrom Street. The Clyde L. Gracey Community Center
currently features several meeting rooms, a fitness center, and multi-discipline activities such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Bingo, Line Dancing and Pickleball. The community center was built from grants generated by taxpayer dollars and now Democrats have approved the use of federal funds to re-invest further in the multi-purpose facility.
Florida GOP politicians like Joel Rudman and Doug Broxson will try to take credit for the expansion despite not supporting the Democratic Infrastructure Bill that funds it. Congressman Matt Gaetz, who represents the city of Milton in Congress, voted against the funds allocated to modernize our community center. Our local media has also dropped the ball, by not explaining the details of how the city of Milton got the funding for this expansion.
As Democrats continue to build a movement focused on funding our future, take the time to thank President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their steadfast leadership and keeping our neighborhoods, healthy, prosperous, and safe.
